Project Category Southern Africa

Bushwakka

A manufacturer and supplier of trailer and off-road caravans, our client is a high energy consumer. With the aim to offset their high energy needs, they opted for a renewable energy solution. We provided them a 70 kWp roof top solar system that ties them to the national utility grid. Receiving 95-100% of their energy from renewable energy resources now, our client not only saved on OPEX and reduced their carbon footprint, they are also able to feed back to the national energy grid.

Romans

This Johannesburg distribution centre required a solution to help them save on their monthly energy bill. With large refrigeration plants and as high consumers of energy, the site is able to benefit from solar. We designed and implemented a 136kWp rooftop grid-tied PV plant to meet their energy demands and reduce their electricity bills. The plant is providing the client with a 17% ROI, producing them approximately 25% of their daily consumption.

Sappi Tech Centre

An office block situated in Pretoria, South Africa, the site required a renewable energy system to reduce grid consumption and carbon emissions during the daytime. N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing a complete grid-tied solar solution. The site now supplements +10% of it’s total demand through solar with an ongoing O&M contract ensuring continuous system performance and optimisation.

Nxabega Lodge

A luxury Lodge situated in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The site required a completely off grid renewable energy system as there is no grid connectivity in the area. Primary purpose of the installation was to reduce generator diesel consumption and carbon emissions, as previously this site ran on generators only. The remote location adds to logistical challenges of maintaining constant diesel supply.  N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing complete microgrid and solar thermal solutions. The project included Solar PV, generators, batteries, and two upgraded centralized solar thermal plants with reticulation.  The site now supplements +85 % of its total demand through solar and solar thermal, with an ongoing O&M contract ensuring continuous system performance and optimization.

Xaranna Lodge

A luxury Lodge situated in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The site required a completely off grid renewable energy system as there is no grid connectivity in the area. Primary purpose of the installation was to reduce generator diesel consumption and carbon emissions, as previously this site ran on generators only. The remote location adds to logistical challenges of maintaining constant diesel supply.  N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing complete microgrid and solar thermal solutions. The project included Solar PV, generators, batteries, and two centralized solar thermal plants with reticulation.  The site now supplements +75 % of its total demand through solar and solar thermal with an ongoing O&M contract ensuring continuous system performance and optimization.

MSC Inhaca Island

This site houses guests from the MSC Cruise liner route looping around South East Africa. This specific site is located on Inhaca Island, Mozambique. The site required a completely off grid renewable energy system as there is no grid connectivity on the island. Primary purpose of the installation was to refurbish an existing installation, and upgrade in line with the facilities expansion. Typically the installation also served purpose to reduce diesel consumption and carbon footprint. The remote location adds to logistical challenges of maintaining constant diesel supply over land and ocean.  N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing a refurbished and upgraded microgrid solution. The project included Solar PV, generators, batteries, and AC reticulation.  The site now supplements +95 % of its total demand through solar and solar thermal, with an ongoing O&M contract ensuring continuous system performance and optimization.

Sandibe Lodge

A luxury Lodge situated in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The site required a completely off grid renewable energy system as there is no grid connectivity in the area. Primary purpose of the installation was to reduce generator diesel consumption and carbon emissions, as previously this site ran on generators only. The remote location adds to logistical challenges of maintaining a constant diesel supply. N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing complete microgrid and solar thermal solutions. The project included Solar PV, generators, batteries, and centralized solar thermal plant with reticulation. The site now supplements +65 % of it’s total demand through solar with an ongoing O&M contract ensuring continuous system performance and optimization.

Duba Lodge

A luxury Lodge situated in the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The site required a completely off grid renewable energy system as there is no grid connectivity in the area. Primary purpose of the installation was to reduce generator diesel consumption and carbon emissions, as previously this site ran on generators only. The remote location adds to logistical challenges of maintaining constant diesel supply.  N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing complete microgrid and solar thermal solutions, alongside a full AC reticulation across the site. The project included Solar PV, generators, batteries, AC reticulation, and two centralized solar thermal plants with reticulation.  The site now supplements +60 % of its total demand through solar and solar thermal.

Zarafa

A luxury Lodge located in the Okavango Delta, Botswana.
The site required an upgrade and refurbishment of an existing microgrid solar system. A three-phase upgrade of the existing single-phase renewable energy plant was implemented for the lodge. The upgrade also benefited from a complete automated generator integration control enabling independent system operation.

Mall in Lebowakgomo

Rooftop Solar Africa

A shopping mall situated in Polokwane, South Africa, the site required a renewable energy system to reduce grid consumption and carbon emissions during the daytime. N.S.E. provided a full EPC/development service implementing a complete grid-tied solar solution. The site now supplements +20% of it’s total demand through solar with an ongoing O&M contract ensuring continuous system performance and optimization.
