Kisawa, Benguerra Island

Kisawa Sanctuary is a luxury eco-resort located on the southern tip of Benguerra Island in Mozambique, blending high-end hospitality with a deep commitment to sustainability. This pristine island has no electricity power producer so solar was a natural solution to ensure that this beautiful lodge has uninterrupted access to renewable energy. NSE designed and built an off-grid, ground-mounted solar and battery system, featuring an 801.15 kW solar plant paired with a 2140.5 kWh battery energy storage system (BESS). This setup ensures reliable, renewable power for the remote island location while minimising environmental impact.
